Is that what Patton said? Is that what Sherman said? Is this what Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Franklin said when they rebelled? Is that what Don Juan said at Lepanto or King Ferdinand at Andalusia? Is that what Geoffrey of Bouillon said? Is it what Joshua said when he crossed the Jordan?
You are a dinosaur trying to fight a warmblooded rat pack. They have no central command; they need none. They move quickly from their rat-holes, and you move slowly with your police efforts.
You are not fighting a nation-state.
You are fighting ""hostis humani generis" the enemies of all mankind.
So, you would let them establish their mosques and their teaching centers in your cities, and recruit from among your native population, and poison the minds of their youth, and plan their plans? Disarm your population and appease the foe and hobble your police?
Again whom will your police retaliate once the suicide-bombers have committed suicide?
You see, they have analyzed your dinosaur moral scruples and seen the weak spot. If you play defensive, they get to select the battlefield. If you limit yourself to retaliation against the aggressor, the suicide-bomber kills himself, a punishment more severe than death-penalty-free Europe can impose, and you are robbed of any meaningful target against which to retaliate. You do not have enough soldiers to bodyguard every free citizen, and the Europeans and Leftists in America cannot allow the citizens to bear arms and each defend himself.
If every adult male in that hotel in India had been carrying a six-shooter, how successfully do you think the Jihad would have been, using three people to kill over three hundred?
It is psychological war. The rats attack the dinosaur at the time and place they chose. They lose some men, they declare victory. The dinosaur, with no nation-state of comparable size and slowness to attack, puts up yellow tape around the scene and investigates — BUT — the investigators may not share information with the civilian police, nor examine the local Mosques, nor concentrate on boys named ‘Mohamed’ for their suspects, because that would be racial profiling.
Don’t you understand what kind of war this is? This is psychological warfare. It is spiritual warfare. The enemy uses our own scruples against us: our media, our courts of law, or liberal notions of freedom of religion and speech and association. They play the victim card and the race card, and they are willing to put more chips on the table, to take greater and ever greater losses, to stay in the game.
What will you do to win the game? So far, this nation, no nation in the West, has even done the inconvenient and necessary things that were done by FDR in WWII, Truman in the Cold War, or Wilson in WWI.
They are willing to die to hurt the weakest among us (sick children in hospitals for God’s sake!) and we are not even willing to organize a domestic counter-espionage service, update a wiretap law to allow for tracking cellphones in motion, or let the FBI see what books a suspect checked out from a library.
We, apparently, are not even willing to say the words "KILL THEM" or "KILL THE ENEMY" or "DEUS LO VOLT". Oh no, oh my no, that would be inflamatory! (Gasp!) That would be barbaric!
