For those of you waiting for STARQUEST, my space-pirate mystic-wizard ghost-haunted pulp series, I am in chapter five Flight of the Pirate Planetoid of volume eight, SINISTER SYNDICATE OF SPACE.
One of the four Dark Overlords of the Fallen Empire is dead, slain by the masked vigilante called the Ancient Mariner, who now must find the Faceless Man that heads the interstellar crime syndicate funding the cruel corsair fleet of Ahab, King of Pirates.
Meanwhile, the starcore weapon, antique artifact of limitless power, is being sought by the black-cloaked spymaster known only as Nightshadow.
Lira the Shrine Maiden, orphaned survivor of a destroyed solar system, is convinced the Empire still exists, and still seeks to avenge her parents: but first she must find the lost planet Arcadia, source of the mystic power and knowledge behind the Golden Order. But the Andromeda galaxy is wide, and there are many places to hide a world, or a thousand worlds.
Special Agent Athos Lone is trapped behind enemy lines, disguised as a pirate captain, then commodore, then admiral. Will he be made the new King of Pirates, or be killed by conspirators?

I wrote two thousand six hundred words this evening, after a full day’s work at my dayjob, and while babysitting my god-granddaughter.
I hope to get this project finished soon, so I can return to Somewhither and to Moth and Cobweb.
Advice to younger writers: do not do what I did, and start a new project without concluding an old.
