God, Constitution, Sanity wins over Caesardolatry
Perhaps on another day I will read the opinion and give a balanced, professional, and lawyerly analysis of the ramifications. That is not for today. For today, we have a small jubilee, and shove a hemisphere of grapefruit painfully into the whimpering face of Caesar and the catamites of Caesar called the Press Corps.
The Hobby Lobby case was decided today with the only decision a sane Angloamerican Court ruling on American Constitutional principles could or should decide. What is astonishing and shameful is that this open-and-shut “Should Catholics Pay for the Abomination of Desolation?” case was decided both on narrow grounds and by a narrow margin. There are four Justices on the Supreme Court who are tone-deaf to the meaning of the First Amendment and the entire history of the English-speaking nation on this continent.
The correct view prevailed because of my friend and fellow soldier Michael Hitchborn prayed the rosary. Go, Mike!
Notice the age of the anti-abortion, anti-contraception protestors caught in this Time Magazine photo. They are young. They survived the abortion holocaust.
Observers believe this decision may have a bearing on related decisions before the court, such as whether it is lawful to force Christians to kill babies in the womb with drugs for the benefit of Sandra Fluke, Baal, Dagon and Moloch, lawful to force Mohammedans to slather themselves with pork lard, or lawful to forbids Jews to Circumcise their young.
There may also be a bearing on the case concerning the Little Sisters of the Poor v Nero, which concerns whether or not an order of Nuns devoted to helping the terminally ill must fund the state’s efforts to dip Christians alive in oil and bitumen while they are impales and lit afire as living torches for the amusement of the emperor and his guests.
The Little Sisters of the Poor are also involved in another case concerning whether they must cooperate actively with a specific grave moral evil which Christ Himself through His Church has forbidden since the time of Nero. Four of the Justice seem not to get the concept that a law higher than the one they interpret says we cannot cooperate with evil, cannot aid it, cannot condone it. Asking permission to be excused from aiding it, logically, is also impossible.
There is, however, a scathing dissenting opinion by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, which I think accurately and fairly represents the views of the mainstream Left: while continuing to have deep respect for the First Amendment, the honorable Justice says that the worship of evil shall supplant all other religion!
The people shall flock to him! Before man walked the Earth, he ruled– but he did tire, and did sleep! Now Shuma-Gorath has returned, and so shall all the old customs! Earth shall be but the initial step in his conquest of the cosmos!
Here is the illustrated version of the dissenting opinion in this case, outlining Justice Ginsburg’s plan for a more equitable future under our Master Shuma-Gorath!
