(I wonder who the extraordinarily talented yet transmichelangeloesque artist was who penned these wonderful pictures may have been? Rumor says that L Jagi Lamplighter’s husband, Mr. Ulotrichous Quiff Lamplighter, drew the illustrations: but of all the goddesses of Olympus, Rumor is the least to be trusted. My sources tell me Ulotrichous Quiff is merely a pen-name, a nom de plume, which leads me to wonder what the name of his pencil is, or his eraser.)
