Joker Movie May Inspire Copycat Violence
Concerning the JOKER movie, it was brought to my attention that all the usual suspects in the state-run Morlock pesthole called the mainstream media are going through their usual routine of furrowing brows and speaking in earnest, concerned, pious tones, bordering on lunatic hysteria, that a film where a white man committing acts of violence, will inspire other whites to do the same.
I have no comment to make about the film, since I have not seen the film and have no plans to see it. But I can comment about the chatter.
I am old enough to remember when the movie SHAFT inspired the chattering class of those days to the selfsame fretful chatter, but it was about negroes, as the liberals at that time called them. Draw what conclusions from that as seem fit.
I am also old enough to remember the time when films did not seek to be edgy, controversial, or shocking, but chose instead to tell good stories, which they could do to a general audience, one including women and children.
Yes, there were gangster films, and westerns, and war pictures, and violence apleanty as Lone Ranger shot cattle rustlers from the Dalton Gang, James West shot hencemen of midget mad scientist Dr Lovelace, the Rat Patrol shot Nazis, and Adam West punched Caesar Romero beneath a flashing sound-effect labeled Kapow!
There is also sex and violence in the Illiad, not to mention the Bible. So it would not be wise either always to except nor always to ignore, such complaints.
I have more than small sympathy to fussy old church ladies who fret that children are being exposed to films and games that are too lurid or violent. But, to be honest, I have none for the hypocrites who, after mocking the ladies, lauding the triumph of filth, applauding the erosion of all good taste to nothing, and doing all in our power to render society numb to foul language, to porn, to torture porn, and to ghastly images of bloodshed more vivid than ever ancient fan of gladiator games could see, now raise the selfsame church lady objections, without first apologizing to the fussy old church ladies, who, as it turns out, the hypocrits are saying were right after all.
We all have heard it all before. Rather than pen a rebuttal in my own words, I will outsource any needed waggishness. All snark below are gleamed from comments taken from one vid on YouTube, which I will take as a sufficient and final word on the subject.
My favorite one liner, which sums up my attitude nicely, is the final one:
- The Bride in Kill Bill, a female seeking revenge is empowerment and celebrated. A man does it… It’s problematic. And needs to be addressed.
- Why didn’t they ask that of: “The Hunt.” Oh right that was about hunting down Trump supporters.
- Why didn’t they ask Brie Larson if she felt responsible for teaching girls to assault and bully boys in real life?
- I think Captain America inspires steroid use
- Wall-E inspired me to become an insane AI and imprison fat people.
- Shia Lebouef’s character in Transformers inspired me to constantly Sprint around with a confused panicked look on my face and go around talking to cars and hitting on women way out of my league.
- Did the bad guy in Black Panther inspire people to try and take over Africa?
- I saw the Avengers. I now want to eliminate half of all life in the universe with the snap of my finger…
- Frankenstein’s monster made me reanimate my dead father and kill everyone I love
- Scarface inspired me to become a Colombian druglord and snort mountains of cocaine.
- Kathy Griffin holding Trump’s severed head: Brave and powerful. This movie: Inspires evil
- Grand Theft Auto taught me that army tanks are flying machines
- I watched Jaws when I was a kid and have been swimming the world’s oceans hunting down beachgoers ever since. I might watch The Blob later to see where that takes me.
- Mortal Kombat convinced me to freeze my Co-Workers and rip out their spines.
- We should’ve learned the lesson after the hundreds of cancer patients that became serial killers after the Saw movies.
- I remember when they said The Matrix would inspire another Columbine.
- Does watching the History Channel inspire people to invade Poland?
- How about all the antifa clips where they are assaulting people or hurling insults? THAT promotes bad behavior way more.
- Plants vs Zombies convinced me to throw walnuts at my Grandma.
- If Star Wars didn’t turn me into an Elite-Warrior with telekinetic Powers…. If Pirates of the Caribbean didn’t turn me into a Rum drinking Sailor with bad Teeth… If Ratatouille didn’t turn me a famous Chef… THEN I HIGHLY DOUBT that the Joker Movie turns me into an evil Murderer!
- I watched the Notebook and I’m still single and not romantic.
- After watching the 3 stooges all these years I finally snapped and just started slapping people and giving them eye pokes and spinning on the floor like a maniac
- I was so inspired by the emoji movie that I’m going to go into someone’s phone
- The smurfs inspired me to become a warlock with a red cat and live in an enchanted forrest searching for Blue gnooms…
- Then make another Batman movie where he fight Joker. That would inspire people to become millionaire and fight against crimes. Modern problems require modern solutions!
