Nigel Farage Farewell Address
Britain says farewell to the European Union, and waves the Union Jack.
This is perhaps the greatest moment of political theater in history. Hail Britannia and God Save the Queen!
In return, the Mairead McGuinness cuts off his mike, and belittles him.
The next speaker says the only thing she will not miss is listening to Mr Farage.
The lack of common courtesy, of good sportsmanship, is endemic to the Left. The problem is philosophical, or, rather, theological. In their world, there is no such thing as legitimate opposition.
In modern, post-Christian thought, all struggles are Darwinian, hence without pity, remorse, or quarter. Compromise, apology, or humility is merely a sign of weakness, and no men are created equal. Any two men, one will be superior hence an exploiter, and the other inferior, hence a victim. The idea of seeing each man as the image and likeness of God (which is the only rational reason for the mystical doctrine of equality of rights under the law) is replaced with the idea of Nietzschean power struggles between the under-men and the super-man.
In modern, post-rational thought, Reason is nothing but the internalization of society programming the subconscious hence irrational mind, hence reason cannot be trusted, and cannot be used to establish common ground for negotiation.
In modern, post-legal thought, the laws do not exist as a framework of compromises and groping after justice meant to benefit all involved by replacing violence with peaceful arbitration according to written, fixed, and objective standards. Instead, laws are expression of the dominant will, meant to harass and oppress anyone stupid enough to honor them. In modern thought, man uses laws to oppress man, and the idea of abiding by a law above all men, or, more to the point, overturning laws when and only when they offend the higher justice, higher than any human law, human law is meant to serve — that ideal is as incomprehensible to the modern mind as hieroglyphs from Atlantis.
Hypocrisy is not an aberration of modern thought. Hypocrisy is the point of modern thought. Darwin proposed that man was not the special creation of the creator, but merely one beast among many. Freud proposed that the conscience is not an organ of perceiving moral reality, but instead was an irrational mesmerism imposed by unthinking societal or genetic forces. Nietzsche proposed that the Darwinian evolution of ape man to superman invalidated all moral rules: nothing was legitimate save for the will to power. Marx proposed that all economic, and, by extension, all thought whatsoever, was an ideological superstructure created by nonhuman historical forces imprinting programmed mental reactions into the brain-matter of passive multitudes.
The result is a gasping wasteland of mental ash and heartless vacuum, wherein is neither joy, nor rest, nor hope, nor love. There is only hypocritical self righteousness, arrogance, and contempt.
The post-human world has no humility hence no gratitude hence no humanity. The post-humans are Morlocks, who consume their fellow men. They cannot even say farewell with dignity.
